Africa's informal economy employs over 80% of the workforce, yet most payment products are designed for formal businesses with bank accounts, offices, and smartphones. We set out to build payment tools that work for everyone.
Our payment links feature lets any merchant create a checkout page without coding. Share the link via WhatsApp or SMS, and customers can pay with mobile money even on basic phones. No app download required.
For merchants with smartphones, our dashboard provides real-time transaction tracking, settlement reports, and invoice generation. All features work on low-bandwidth connections and consume minimal data.
The results have been remarkable. A vegetable vendor in Kampala uses payment links to collect orders via WhatsApp. A hair salon in Kigali sends invoices through SMS. These merchants were previously cash-only.
